Penda Dallé : Homage To Fallen Legend

The artist who died on December 26 in France was buried on Saturday February 18, 2023 in the Ngodi Cemetery in Douala.
Renowned talented artist Penda Dallé Jean has been described as a man who used his gift for the development of home town Bonadibong, and Cameroon as a whole. This was during the funeral service that took place at the Ngodi field on Saturday, February 18, 2023 in Douala. During the funeral service, the officiating pastor said God gave different talents to people for different purposes. He called on mourners to use their talents to glorify God like Penda Dallé did through his songs. He described the late artist as somebody who sang to promote peace and social cohesion.
While presenting the condolences of the administration, the Regional Delegate of Arts and Culture for the Littoral regional, Dr. François Edimo, said the nation has lost a great man who has served in different capacities. The Regional Delegate of Minac reminded all that Penda Dallé was one those musicians who helped in shining Cameroonian music internationally. He called on all to pray for the repose of his soul. Grace Decca described Penda Dallé as a big brother who will be truly missed both within and out of Cameroon. She said his demise has affected the music industry and prayed for the repose of his soul. The refined guitarist, song writer, composer and performer will be remembered for his hit track “Bonadibong” and Ndut’a Diba” that made rounds in the musical scene in the 1980s.
Born on the 13 of September 1957 in Douala, Penda Dallé joined the Cameroonian military in 1976 and four years after he left to pursue his musical carrier. He was part of the “Black Styl’s” musical group and he later on created “New stars de Bonadibong”. He had a good number of musical albums in his repertoire. Penda Dallé has performed in concerts round the world. At 65, be was one of the Cameroon musicians known to have sold Cameroon to the world positively. He died on the 26 of December 2022 in France, leaving behind a wife, children, grandchildren and a host of fans and Cameroonians to mourn him. The author-composer, arranger, guitarist, performer ...
