Senatorial Election : Epic Battle Areas

Far North, Adamawa, East and West Regions are areas where forecast indicates an interesting race for seats in the Senate.

As campaigns for the Senatorial election approaches, each of the ten political parties taking part in the poll are fine-tuning strategies on gaining the highest possible number of seats. Given the lists of candidates of political parties accepted by Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), it is indicative enough that competition will be rife in some regions. As a result, political parties therein will have to adopt the best of their strategies, should they want to be represented in that House of Parliament. The Adamawa, Centre, West and Far North Regions are some of the regions where the race will be interestingly hot. 
In the Far North Region, a total of four political parties are taking part in the election and they include the National Alliance for Democracy and Progress (NADP), Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), National Union for Democracy and Progress (NUDP) and the Democratic Movement for the Defence of the Republic (MDR). Remarkably, all four parties have an impressive political base in the region. The MDR which is participating in the election first time has a Barrister at law as list leader in the person of Djorwe Paulin.
Crossing over to the West Region, three political parties are contesting. They are; the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), Cameroon Democratic Union (CDU), and Union des Mouvement Socialistes (UMS). The CDU and UMS are participating for the first time and both have a strong political history in the region. The list of UMS is headed by Njonkam Anne, UMS Mayor of Bafang and will be using that as a major point to get seats in the Senate.
