2023 Women’s Day celebration : Health, Humanitarian Activities On Agenda

Ministerial departments and enterprises are carrying out last minute arrangements

Activities to grace the 2023 International Women’s Day in various ministerial departments and organisations in the country are at its peak. Last minute meetings and other arrangements are ongoing to give the day the importance it deserves. Health sensitisation campaigns, sport and cultural performances and round table discussions on the theme of celebration will characterise events in various gathering.  The 38th edition of the international Women’s Day in Cameroon will be commemorated on the theme “For an inclusive digital world innovation and technologies for gender equality.” 
Women at the Ministry of Public Works are gearing up for a sensitisation, counselling, and screening campaign on female related diseases such as breast and cervical cancers. In this light, a free screening test for these cancers will take place on March 6, 2023 at the meeting room of the Inspectorate General of Services at the Ministry of Public Works. There will also be screening for other ailments such as HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B and C. Those who need the Covid-19 vaccine will also have the opportunity to receive one.
At the Ministry of Finance, today and March 2, has been termed “health day.” The day is not limited only to women, but also men in the ministry. Everybody is being called to participate in a cardiovascular consultation at the ministerial Department of Standardization and Stores-Accounting. Women in the ministry will also have the opportunity to undertake a breast and cervical cancer screening at a private clinic in Yaounde. From 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. women will undergo a mammography and cervical smear.
