Election Materials : Dispatching On Course

In a few days, every region will already have its materials to be used on polling day.

Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), the institution in charge of organising elections, ensures material used in the process are available on time. With the case of the Senatorial election, needed materials for March 12, 2023 poll are ready. Production has been completed and dispatching is ongoing, and in a few days, every region will have its material to be used on polling day. The materials sent to different offices of Elections Cameroon across the ten regions globally include; document kits for Regional Supervisory Commissions, guidance kits for senatorial electors, functional and security kits for the Commission in charge of logistics and transport, and Covid-19 kit. Broken down in simple terms, the materials sent to polling stations include transparent ballot boxes, ballot papers, envelopes, bold makers, pens and pencils, indelible ink badges for various stakeholders and ELECAM fabric which will be used in dressing the tables to ascertain its right as the elections management body. Other materials equally dispatched to regions are calculators, ream of papers (Size A4), the Electoral Code, election report form on proceedings of the Regional Supervisory Commission and envelopes addressed to the President of the National Commission for the Final Counting of Votes. Packets of face masks, hand sanitizer, guide for election observers and packs of tissues to clean fingers after the use of the indelible ink to affix fingerprint by a name as a means of indicating that someone has voted. The materials have been well packed in cartons with labels indicating the region, division and polling station of destination. Materials for the setting up of a polling booth are also therein and are prepared such that the booth reflects the secrecy of an election.
