Yaoundé : Cultural Jamboree Crowns Celebrations

A special luncheon offered by the First Lady of Cameroon ended Women’s Day festivities.

Marthe Zambo, Ben Decca, Sally Nyolo, Sandrine Nnanga and a host of other artists joined scores of women in Yaounde to grace activities marking the 2023 International Women’s Day in a grand style. This was during a special reception offered by the First Lady of Cameroon at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel. The reception was in honour of all Cameroonian women as they commemorated the 38th Edition of the International Women’s Day on the theme, “For an inclusive digital world, innovation and technologies for gender equality.” Representing the First Lady at the luncheon which was spiced with cultural displays from all the ten-regions of the country, was the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Marie-Therese Abena Ondoa. 
After the colourful march-past at the 20th May Boulevard in Yaounde, all roads led to the Yaounde Hilton Hotel. In no time, all guests (members of government, members of the diplomatic corps and special invitees) had taken their seats. Good music from a musical band ushered the personal representative of the First Lady into the banquet hall.
