2024 AFCON Qualifiers : Indomitable Lions Begin Training

The team is expected to start preparations at the Mundi Sports Complex today ahead of the first of the double confrontation against Namibia on Friday March 24, 2023.

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are expected to begin training at the Mundi Sports Complex in Yaounde today, Monday March 20, 2023 for their two-legged Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Brave Warriors of Namibia. The Lions will take on the Warriors of Namibia on Friday March 24, 2023 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium. The encounter will be the third playing day of the qualifying tournament. Ahead of the encounter, head coach of the Indomitable Lions had published a final list of 24 players who will defend the colours of the country in that competition. 
Reports say the players and staff of the national football team arrived in the country over the weekend. The players and the coach are working out strategies in order to get the best result in the competition. The training camp comes on the heels of a prospective mission in Europe by Coach Rigobert Song Bahanag. That enabled the coach to have a good perception of players for his team. Training will take place twice daily to keep the player on top form. In the meantime, all does not seem to be well for the Indomitable Lions as the team captain, Vincent Aboubakar, will be absent from the squad. The Besiktas striker was suspended after he received a red card during the last group game of the Indomitable Lions at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. However, Vincent Aboubakar will be in the squad for the return leg in Johannesburg.
