Busy Schedule Ahead For Lions

They are engaged in the qualifiers for the 2017 AFCON and 2018 World Cup as well as the final round of the 2017 AFCON.

The indomitable Lions will resume duty on August 28 for what promises to be a very busy period leading up to the 2017 AFCON in Gabon. The Lions have to first finish up with the qualifiers for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nation. Though Cameroon is already qualified for the tournament, they still have one last qualifier match to play against Zambia. The match will take place in Limbe on September 3rd.

After the last qualifier match against Gambia, the Lions will play a friendly against the host of the 2017 AFCON, Gabon still in Limbe a few days later on September 6th. The last qualification match as well as friendly will serve as warm up matches for the lions before they embark on the crucial campaign for the 2018 World Cup in Russia where the Lions were drawn a pool of death comprising, the best African team on the Fifa world ranking, Algeria and former nation’s cup winners like Nigeria and Zambia.

Cameroon starts the campaign for the Russian world cup with a game against Algeria on October 3rd.  The next and last rendez-vous for the Lions in 2016 will be on November 7th when they take on Zambia still in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup. After this encounter the Lions will take a break with the qualifiers for the World cup to engage in the final round of the 2017 AFCON in January next year. They will renew with the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup only in October 2017 when they will knock horns with the Super Eagles of Nigeria on October 28th.
