Senate : State Personalities, Scholars Therein

Former Ministers and university lecturers are amongst the 100 Senators who will be serving a five-year mandate as legislators.


Amongst the 100 Senators for the third legislative period are senior administrators and university professors. Each region has at least one of such personalities to appreciate legal instruments for the wellbeing of the population. 
In the Centre Region, there is Bell Luc René, former Governor of the North West and West Regions, and former Delegate General for National Security. There is also Emmanuel Tabi Pierre, a career diplomat and former Director of the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC). Still in the Centre Region, there is Robert Nkili, former Minister of Transport and Jean Marie Pongmoni, a Prison Administrator. 
Amongst the 10 Senators of the East Region for the 2023-2028 legislative period is Benjamin Amama Amama, of the Haut-Nyong Division who is former Director General of the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM), former Technical Adviser at the Presidency and former Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms. There is equally Ndanga Ndinga Badel, former Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development. Ze Nguele René, is former Minister of Information (now Communication). 
In the West Region, there is Marcel Niat Njifenji, onetime Director General of the National Electricity Company (SONEL) and Minister of Planning and Territorial Administration. 
Etame Massoma David Siegfried of the Littoral Region is equally a senior administrator as he has served the Fatherland as Governor in several regions and has being the Minister of Sports and Physical Education.
