Nanga Eboko Subdivision : Six Family Members Murdered

The incident, which reportedly occurred on April 6, 2023, is under investigation as the population is still in shock.
Inhabitants of Nanga Eboko, headquarters of the Upper Sanaga Division of the Centre Region are still in shock after discovering that six family members were gruesomely assassinated. According to the Senior Divisional Officer of the Upper Sanaga Division, the victims are family members. Amongst them a 31-year-old woman named Vanessa Youbi Kanga. She was murdered alongside her three children, a younger sister and a niece. The victims belong to the Menoua community of Nanga Eboko. The incident occurred on April 6, 2023 at the Nkotnnam neighbourhood in Nanga Eboko. Apparently, the perpetrator entered the house from its roof while destroying the ceiling.
Following an intervention from administrative authorities, the remains of the victims were deposited at the Mortuary of the Nanga Eboko District Hospital. According to the administrative authority, investigations have opened on the matter. Reports say the murderer did not just brutally slash the throats of innocent children, but also mutilated Vanessa’s body, removed her breasts and sex, placed them on her stomach in the sitting room. The corpses of the three children were found in the toilet, her younger sister’s corpse was seen in one of the living rooms and the cousin’s corpse was along the corridor with blood all over the house.
According to police report, Vanessa was also raped before being killed. Field report further reveals that the throats of the children were also cut off. Worries from family members and traders at the market square where Vanessa sells vegetable, led to the discovery of the horrendous act.
