Operationalising Audio-visual Law : Concertations Continue

Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute on April 13, 2023 presided at an interministerial meeting geared at examining the state progress as concerns the elaboration of implementation texts relating to the April 20, 2015 law governing audio-visual activities in Cameroon. Stakeholders comprising cabinet ministers and heads of public structures directly linked with audio-visual activities in Cameroon were meeting to analyse hitches in outlying implementation text of the said law. 
In his introductory statement, the Prime Minister noted that this very important task is under review at the Steering Committee for Monitoring and Evaluation of the implantation of the Terrestrial Digital Television. Highlighting on the state of advancements, the Head of Government stated that of the 20 outlined implementation texts, 13 have already been elaborated and examined at the governmental coordination level, with two already transmitted to the Presidency of the Republic. Going by the him, most of the hitches identified in the process while examining the documents include; referring to the National Communication Council as the audio-visual regulatory organ or not, the choice of enterprises that can become a multiplexing operator, the choice of the institution to exercise control and technical tutelage, and...
