South West : Tasks Awaiting New BUNEC Chief

Ndzerem Walter Yuyun is now the new South West Regional Chief of the National Civil Status Registration Office (BUNEC). He was commissioned into office in Buea on Tuesday April 11, 2023 by Abdoulaye Adjiali Bouka, Deputy General Manager of BUNEC. He took over from Ashu Sinke who was promoted as Director of Archives and Statistics at BUNEC head office in Yaounde. Ndzerem Yuyun was appointed following BUNEC Board of Directors resolution No0070/BUNEC/CA of December 22, 2022. As the new South West Regional Chief of BUNEC took office, here are what awaits him in office. He will have to target public awareness on the importance of civil status registration, follow up the smooth training of civil status registration stakeholders and search ways and means to improve upon the civil status registration rate in the region concerning birth certificates, marriage certificates and death certificates. He will do the collection and compilation of civil status statistics, good archiving of civil status registries, implement a close follow up of projects that are carried out by BUNEC, in partnership with some funding organisations among others.
