Football National Technical Directorate : Hope In The Horizon!

The arrival of Engelbert Mbarga, opens another page for this crucial department aimed at optimising the competitiveness of Cameroonian football from the base to the elite level.

Looking at the recent perfor mance of some national se lections, it is an open secret that Cameroon’s football is- - choking in pains. Rescue mechanisms are thus underway and all eyes are seemingly turned to the National Technical Directorate (NTD) of the Cameroon Football Federation with the recent appointment of Engelbert Mbarga at the helm of the structure responsible for the development, implementation and permanent adaptation of the national technical football policy. All these are with the aim of optimising the competitiveness and performance of Cameroonian football from the base to the elite level. But it will be faulty to make it look like the body is just being introduced. The fact is that the department had been existing for decades, but it is fully putting into action its several missions crucial to the life of football in the country that has been stammering. Now, hopes are high that with the new National Technical Director, Engelbert Mbarga, who is not new to the job, Cameroon’s football will experience a facelift. It should be recalled that he moves to the top position after serving as Deputy of Serge Noah, that was appointed National Technical Director in 2019.
