Facilitating Payment : Professional Accord Signed

The MoU will go a long way to enable the banks to provide support for the maintenance of the payment software system.

The Single Window for foreign trade known in French as Guichet Unique des Opérations du Commerce Extérieur (GUCE) has signed a partnership agreement with the Professional Association of Credit Institutions of Cameroon, known by its French acronym as APECCAM. The Memorandum of Understanding that was signed on Friday, April 28 will go long way to optimise the services on the E- Guce payment platform. The Agreement will also regulate the relations between the parties with regard to the provision of services relating to payment on the e-GUCE platform for, duties, taxes, royalties and various costs liquidated by the General Directorate of Customs, and General Directorate of Taxes, royalties and other costs paid by the technical administrations involved in foreign trade operations.  
The MoU further obliges GUCE to ensure the availability of the e-GUCE Payment platform in accordance with the specifications and ensure control of the level of quality of service provided through the development and signing of a service level agreement. They will also have to ensure the implementation of a complete and quality service, by activating the modules constituting the payment solution. The agreement highlights stated that GUCE must provide user assistance, in particular through a hotline assistance service dedicated to banks.
