US Alumni Network Cameroon : Members Urged To Work Together

The second edition of the U.S. Government Alumni National Symposium ended over the weekend in Yaounde.

Members of the U.S Alumni Network Cameroon have been urged to continue working together and for the common good of the association. The call was made by the Ambassador of the United States to Cameroon, Christopher J. Lamora during the 2023 Cameroon Alumni National Symposium on the theme: “Driving Youth Actions For Cameroon’s Economic Development.” The symposium took place from April 27 to 29 in Yaounde.
Ambassador Christopher J. Lamora said the U.S. Exchange Programme which dates many years ago, has permitted many Cameroonians to travel to the USA, gain skills, improve their talents and come back to contribute to the economic and social development of the country. Bringing together all those who have benefitted from the programme, such as the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Alumni Association, Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni, TechWomen Fellow Alumni, the International Visitor Leadership Programme (commonly referred to as IVLP) and Humphrey Programme Alumni, Ambassador Lamora said the symposium is a platform to strengthen the network and a good idea for Cameroon’s future. He also said the embassy was appreciative of what the Alumni Network had achieved so far, and celebrated them for being an incredible network of Cameroon's finest and impactful brains. While reiterating the embassy's unrelenting support towards the success of the U.S. Exchange Programs Alumni Network, the United States Diplomat advised the alumni to regularly update the Embassy about their activities on the field, so that they can better support them.
