Yaounde I’s Journey To The Top

The University of Yaounde I is the Olympic champion of this year’s 2023 University Games that just-ended in the University of Ngaoundere. It topped the final Olympic medal table with 17 gold medals, 10 in silver and 10 in bronze making it a total of 37 medals. The institution is six gold medals above its direct followers of the University Institute of the Gulf of Guinea. 
The University of Yaounde I started preparing for victory right from the beginning. As per the standing of April 30, 2023, the University was top with six gold medals, two silver and one bronze; making it a total of nine medals. The following day, the University continued with the lead. According to the standings of May 1, 2023, the institution progressed to a total of 22 medals, 10 in gold, six in silver and six in bronze. On Tuesday May 2, 2023, the University of Yaounde I, added two gold medals to their tally to climb to 12 and totally, it moved to 28 medals. The following day, the athletes from the University of Yaounde I did not add any other medal but maintained their first position on the standings. It was on Thursday, May 4, 2023 that the University climbed to 32 medals with 14 gold, nine in silver and nine in bronze.
