Programme Budgeting : Bilingualism Commission Members Study Dynamics

The Chairperson of the institution, Peter Mafany Musonge yesterday May 9, 2023 chaired the opening of a three-day capacity building workshop ongoing in Yaounde which ends tomorrow.


Members of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism as well as the Secretary General, are undergoing a capacity-building workshop on programme budgeting. The Chairperson of the Commission, Peter Mafany Musonge, chaired the opening of the seminar on May 9, 2023. It ends tomorrow May 11, 2023 and modules revolve around the dynamics of public finance management reforms, and the general strategy on the organisation of administrations. Experts and resource persons at the training are from the Ministry on Finance.  
The preliminary statement of the Chairperson of the Commission indicates that the main objective is to enable members of the Commission formalise themselves with the philosophy, concepts, normative framework and practice of programme budgeting. “More specifically, it is intended to enable members of the Commission to appreciate the spirit of the legal framework of programme budgeting, equip members with the key concepts and notions, enable members to master the performance-based management of programmes and master the main budgetary documents,” stated Peter Mafany Musonge. He added that the seminar is equally in respect to a commitment members took during the December 2022 session while adopting the 2023 action plan of the Commission. During the said session, members agreed to undergo two capacity building seminars in the course of the financial year; one on programme budgeting and another on the National Development Strategy, NDS30.
