Concours d’entrée en 6e : Minister Visits Exam Centres

After making stops at five centres in Yaounde, Prof. Nalova Lyonga noted with satisfaction the manner in which the examination was conducted.

Some 360,000 pupils nationwide yesterday May 11, 2023, undertook the Concours d’entrée en 6e  and Common Entrance examinations into colleges of general education and first year into technical and vocational education. While making a tour to some examination centres hosting Concours d’entrée en 6e candidates in Yaounde, the Minister of Secondary Education, Nalova Lyonga noted with satisfaction the serenity that reigned as the examinations unfolded. She particularly lauded the respect of the modalities organising the said exam notably the 50 candidates per hall supervised by two invigilators.
The Minister and her entourage made their first stop at the Government Bilingual High School at the Nkolndongo neighbourhood in Yaounde and later moved to the Government High School Augissa where 705 candidates were expected to write the exams. According to the Principal of the School, Jean Blaise Belibi, 692 candidates were present. He explained that there were 13 absences and 25 candidates with minor problems. Those with problems were mainly candidates whose names are not on the official list of candidates although they had registered for the examinations. Such candidates were allowed to write the exams while the problem will be solved later. In this centre, the Minister observed that some few examination halls were dark. She urged the principal to correct the situation before other examinations. She also called on the improvement of the school infrastructure, by replacing wooden classrooms with modern material.
At the Government High School Nkolmesseng as well as the Government Bilingual High School Mimboman, serenity was observed as candidates wrote the Concours d’entrée en 6e.
