Bamenda : Growing Understanding, Appreciation

Relationship between the defence and security forces and the population in Bamenda are more and more characterized by conviviality and respect.

Bamenda, the capital of the security-crisis affected North West Region happens to be the headquarters of the 5th Joint Military Region and 5th Joint Gendarmerie Region, thereby naturally being the hub of the impressive presence of defence and security forces as well as staff of the Penitentiary Administration.
The progressive return to peace and normalcy in Bamenda in particular and the North West Region in general judging from the repeated declarations of officials among whom is the North West Regional Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique is thanks to the growing collaboration between the forces and the population.  A keen observation in interactions between the population and the forces shows greater understanding with each of them trying to respect each other’s roles.  Be they the army, Gendarmes and Policemen and women, the scaring and suspicious relations during the heat period of the crisis have given way to better understanding, harmony and living together.
