Open Days of Defence and Security Forces : Douala Appreciates Initiative

This was during the exhibition days of the armed forces running from the 15-19 May, 2023.

It was a friendly atmosphere at the “Place du Gouvernement” in Bonanjo that is hosting the open days of the defence and security forces on May 16 when CT visited the site. The open day village was thronged with people of different walks of life who wanted to see for themselves what the military is made up of. From one stand to the other, people were allowed to see and touch some of the weapons and equipment often used by the armed forces. The uniform officers were also available to dish out information where and when necessary.
Be it at the stand of the national gendarmerie, the air force and the navy as well as the fire and rescue battalion of the national army, the police, the penitentiary administration, the customs and the forestry and wildlife, the population got the necessary information on the functioning of the different units.
On hand to get firsthand information about the different structures was the Commander of the Second Joint Military Region covering the Littoral and South West, General Eba Eba Bede Benoit, and the commander of the Second Gendarmerie Region, Brigadier General Ekongwesse Divine accompanied by other military staff, moved from stand...
