Bamenda : Massive Participation

North West Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique presided at the military and civilian march past as well as medal and prizes award ceremony at the Bamenda Commercial Avenue Grandstand on May 20, 2023.

North West Regional Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique reacting after the military and civilian march past at the Bamenda Commercial Avenue Grandstand on May 20, 2023 on the occasion of the celebration marking the 51st edition of the National Day told the press that, “I am indeed satisfied with the huge mobilization of the armed forces, discipline and harmony with the population of the North West Region. They have come out massively this year to show to the world that bid by bid peace is coming back to the North West Region.”
The Governor congratulated those who contributed to the huge success of the celebration, citing the population that came out massively despite the challenging times. He hailed the armed forces who demonstrated discipline and patriotism thereby sending a message to the nation that the North West Region is regaining peace. With regard to people who have not yet joined the peace, stability and return to normalcy crusade, Governor Lele Lafrique appealed, “Those who are still dragging their feet have to be told that their interest should be to come back and join the Head of State President Paul Biya to build this country better with their contributions.”
Eyewitnesses of the celebration stated that it recorded historic great success in terms of the massive turn out and participation since the outbreak of the socio-political and security crisis rocking the North West and South West Regions. Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique who chaired the event pinned medals on meritorious persons. Prizes were also given to winners of the various socio-cultural events organized to the run up to the celebration.
