Bafoussam : City Displays Mark Celebrations

An enthusiastic crowd of over 45,000 people, comprising the various detachments of the military, Gendarmes, and ploice, school pupils, students and political parties, cultural and social groups, turned out in jubilant style at the Bafoussam ceremonial ground to give the 51st National Day the pomp and gaiety it deserves.
The ecstatic occasion was presided over by West Governor,Awa  Fonka  Augustine,who opened the celebration by inspecting the guard of honor of the various detachment of the military, gendarmes, police and ex-service men. Celebrations in Bafoussam this year came with many innovations. Firstly, the 20, May in Bafoussam grouped all the three Subdivisions of Bafoussam,1,2 and 3, after a long spell during which, May,20th, festivities took place at the various Subdivisional headquarters. Secondly, the streets of Bafoussam city were decorated with the national colors. Another spectacular highlight was the superb organization of the military and other security forces that glided pass the grand-stand on top regalia, all the anxious Bafoussam public that cheered them as they buoyantly march past the ceremony ground.
