Buea : Population Align With Republican Values

An improvised device that exploited at 1: 05 pm on May 20, 2023 below ENEO fence at Bongo Square was too late to disrupt the colourful celebration of national unity in diversity which had ended at 12:32 pm. Nobody was hurt as the population had dispersed and elements of defence and security forces were boarding their vehicles. The blast happened when few journalists were rounding off with work at the ceremonial ground and few of medal recipients and their families were still taking souvenir pictures. As at press time on Sunday May 21, 2023, no arrest was made and no details emerged on how the improvised device found itself there. 
Prior to that unfortunate incident, the population of Buea had stood as one man to uphold the values of national unity in Cameroon. The colourful event at Bongo square opened at 10:24 am with the award of medals to 28 recipients among which were Order of Valour (5), Cameroon Order of Merit (13), Knight of the sport order of merit (02), Medal of the forces of Law and Order (07) and Labour medal of honour (1). This led to the military march past at 11:02 am. The defense and security forces showcased their might in defending the national territory. The forces that were commanded by Major Guy Eyebe Ewodo had heavy artilleries in hand as they pounded the tarmac with the feet as they flew passed the ceremonial ground in cheers. Ammunitions and combat vehicles were also on display. All the various units of defence and security forces made their presence felt.
