Kedjom-Keku Village : Kidnapped Women Released

The Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam Simon Emile Mooh says investigations are underway to track down the perpetrators and present them before the judicial authorities.
Some 30 women heavily armed men tortured and kidnapped at the Kedjom-Keku Village (Big Babanki) in Tubah Subdivision of Mezam Division in the North West Region on May 20, 2023 are reported to have been freed. Reliable sources in the Village said the Women were released the same day. The source further disclosed that five of the women sustained injuries with two of them critical. Government through the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam Division Simon Emile Mooh in a press release issued on May 23, 2023 condemned the atrocities. Corroborative sources from the village disclosed that the armed individuals whom the SDO qualified as “terrorists” have been extorting money from the population through imposed fines and collections on every activity.
