African Volleyball Championships : National Teams Begin Preparations

Ahead of the competitions, the senior men’s and women’s selections began training in their hideouts in Yaounde yesterday May 30, 2023.

In less than three months, Cameroon will take part in three major international competitions. These are the African Men’s Volleyball Championship, the African Women’s Volleyball Championship and the Women’s U19 World Championship. The 2023 edition of the men’s volleyball championship will take place from August 30 to September 9, 2023 in Cairo, Egypt, while the women’s competition will take place in Yaounde, Cameroon, from August 8 to 17, 2023. The U19 Women’s World Cup will take place from August 1 to 11 2023 in Croatia and Hungary. 
Ahead of the competitions, the coaches of the men’s and women’s national teams have made public the list of players preselected to begin training in Yaounde. 
The teams began training in their hideouts in Yaounde yesterday May 30, 2023. Prior to their training, the coaches to guide Cameroon in the competitions were presented in a press conference in Yaounde presided over by the President of the Cameroon Volleyball Federation. Peter Nonenbroid will lead the men’s volleyball team while Yende Lavoisier will lead the women’s volleyball team to the African Championship and the World Cup.  The coaches also presented the preselected list of players who are in camp in Yaounde. The players are all home-based.
