Several development opportunities are gained when economic get-togethers such as the International Economic Days of Councils, abbreviated JEICOM, are organised. From the signing of multi-stakeholder partnerships, to securing funds for investment projects, transfer of technology and exchange of ideas on local development are some glaring positive outcomes. Such forums focus on trends and progress in growth through national and international development cooperation, promotes knowledge sharing and mutual learning and encourages coherence in development policy and across diverse actors and activities. Councils are the main participants and through the exhibition of potentials from their respective municipalities, resources can be secured to enhance local development. 
Development projects in Councils are in need of finances. Mayors get to meet to present their projects to foreign partners and possibly get funding given that these international investors participate in such forums. As such, partnership agreements are signed for the funding of a project over a specified period of time. And when projects such as markets, hospitals, town halls, and hotels are constructed, they generate income that can be used for other development activities.
