African Women Leader’s Network : Women Enjoined To Embrace Ambitious, Realistic Projects

The Minister of Women’s Empowerment made the call as she opened the general assembly of the network, yesterday June 6, 2023 in Yaounde.


Women in Cameroon have been called upon to establish ambitious and realistic projects which will have an impact on the population in general. The call was made by the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Marie Therese Obama as she opened the general assembly to restructure the African Women Leaders Network for the transformation of Africa, Cameroon chapter (ALWN 237) yesterday June 6, 2023.  
Professor Marie Therese Obama said the government is committed to supporting AWLN 237 in achieving its priority objective, which is the implementation of public policies for the protection and promotion of women's rights, and the promotion and consolidation of peace and social stability in line with the United Nations' Agenda 2030 and the African Union's Agenda 2063. These agendas, the Minister said, envisage a world in which full gender equality is achieved in all spheres of life: that is men and women, boys and girls are equal in all respects (health, education, access to productive resources and decision-making positions, absence of violence). “These objective can only be achieved if AWLN 237 works in an organised way to play its part in the vast undertaking,” Minister Obama underscored.
