Edea-Kribi : Martin Marinov Conquers Yellow Jersey

The yellow jersey of the ongoing International Cycling Tour of Cameroon has been ripped-off of Algerian’s Hamza Yacine who won the first two laps in the North of the country. The prestigious jersey which honours the best athlete on the general classification is now worn by Martin Marinov of the Martigues Sport, France. He finished first on the general classification after the 108km Edea-Kribi third lap yesterday June 6, 2023 with a total time of 7h50’30”.  
It should be recalled that this lap was initially supposed to kick-off in Pouma but the Cameroon Cycling Federation explained that due to the late arrival of bicycles from Garoua to Yaounde, the kick-off point had to be shifted to Edea. The athletes thus had a shorter distance to cover in the highly competitive lap, rich in changes and surprises. 
Kick-off was given at 2:31 p.m in Edea and right from the beginning, the athletes showed a lot of determination to better their position on the general classification as well as winning the lap. But at the end, it is Verzijl Sten of the Global Cycling Team (Holland) that won the lap.
