Air Transport Services : Cameroon Envisages Better Cooperation With Algeria

Transport Minister, Ernest Ngalle Bibehe on June 12, defended a bill to that effect before the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly.

Improving air transport services between Cameroon and Algeria through the ratification of an agreement signed between the two parties on Feburary 24, 2021 in Yaounde came under scrutiny at the National Assembly. Transport Minister, Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe was on June 12, 2023 before the Foreign Affairs Committee of the law-making House headed by Hon. Emmanuel Bamni to explain the pertinence of ratifying the legal instrument by Cameroon. He was assisted by External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella.
Minister Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe explained that the agreement governs, on a reciprocal basis, matters relating to the granting of rights, designation and authorisation of air transport, operation of approved services, civil aviation safety and security, user charges, customs duties and taxes, and programme approval. "The agreement is fully in line with the policy of liberalisation of air transport services and diversification of Cameroon's partners.
