Supreme Court: Judicial Year Opens Today

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Daniel Mekobe Sone will chair the solemn opening session.

The judicial year in Cameroon for 2017 will officially open today, February 22, 2017 when the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Daniel Mekobe Sone will chair the opening session at the Supreme Court. The information is contained in a press release signed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
Today’s solemn opening of the Supreme Court which also marks the opening of the judicial year is in respect of provisions of Section 33 (1) of the law N°2006/016 of 29 December 2006 relating to the organization and  functioning of the Supreme Court. The law provides that at the beginning of every judicial year and latest February 28, the Supreme Court holds a solemn opening session chaired by the Chief Justice of the court that has to be attended by Chief Justices of Courts of Appeal and heads of other jurisdictions in charge of administrative and audit matters.
