Enhancing Healthcare Buea : Imagery Centre, Limbe Neonatology Unit Go Operational

The Minister of Public Health officially opened the facilities on June 30, 2023.

Patients in Buea and environs seeking medical interventions on CT scan, Interventional Radiology, Mammography, Ultrasonography, and Conventional radiography and Fluoroscopic studies now have the facilities at their disposal. The new equipment are found at the newly inaugurated Medical Imagery Centre of the Buea Regional Hospital. Dr. Joshua Tambe, radiologist said diagnoses like breast cancer, echography both general and specialized and all different types of x-rays can now be done at the centre. 
The Medical Imagery Centre has three offices for Medical Doctors, two offices for technologists, secretariat and waiting rooms for patients, four toilets and rooms for interpretations taking the structure to 14 rooms. It is built on an approximately 250 metre square of land. In the main waiting hall, the price list of the various medical interventions are pasted on the wall. Mosoko Edward Motuwe, 2nd Deputy Mayor of Buea, said the Medical Imagery Centre has come as a great relief to the inhabitants of his municipality who had often sorted for such medication services in Douala, Limbe and Yaounde. 
At the Limbe Regional Hospital, two structures were inaugurated. They are the VIP unit and the Neonatology Unit. The VIP ward has 16 rooms with a 24 space capacity. Each room has an internal toilet. There are also four offices for nurses. The VIP ward is donated by the National Oil Refinery (SONARA). The Neonatology unit is for new born. It has services such as incubator, oxygenotherapy, Central line, Lumbar tap, Tunnel, Lamp among others.
