Bamenda : Some 30 Soldiers Promoted to Higher Ranks

The new ranks were awarded them in a ceremony in Bamenda on July 1 presided by North West Governor in the company of the Commander of the 5th Joint Military Region.

Some 30 soldiers from the infantry, National Gendarmerie, Air force and Fire Fighters Brigade who were promoted within the second semester and third trimester of the 2023 financial year, were awarded their new ranks in a public ceremony at the courtyard of the 5th Joint Military Region in Bamenda, presided by the Governor of the North West Region, Lele Lafrique and attended among others by the Commander of the 5th Joint Military Region, Brigadier General Bouba Dobekreo. 
Among the recipients were 11 officers, 10 non-commissioned officers and nine rank and file soldiers.  Of the 11 officers, were four gendarmes and seven infantries, among who was a colonel, three captains, six lieutenants and one sub lieutenant. Of the 10 non-commissioned officers, were four gendarmes, two fire fighters and four infantries who bore ranks ranging from ‘Marechal de logis’ to ‘adjudant chef’. The lone lady among the laureates was among the rank and file and was in fact putting on her first rank in the army as ‘carporal’, which valued her privilege of a special picture with the General Bouba and Governor Lele Lafrique. There were two gendarmes, seven infantries and two marines who bore ranks ranging from ‘carporal’ or ‘matelots’ for the marines to the rank of’ carporal chef’.
