2023 GCE : Scripts Correction Ongoing

The exercise taking place in Buea started on Thursday June 29, 2023.

The correction of scripts for the June 2023 session of examinations organised by the Cameroon General Certificate of Education Board (CGCE) is ongoing in Buea. The exercise which started on June 29, 2023 is taking place in academic establishments among them are Bilingual Grammar School Molyko, Baptist High School Buea, Government High School Buea, Presbyterian Secondary School Buea. The markers are expected to correct 93,762 Ordinary Level scripts 64,123 Advanced Level scripts, 14,909 TVEE Intermediate Level scripts and 9,430 TVEE Advanced Level scripts, bringing the total to 182,224 scripts.
In the same vain, South West secondary educational family on Wednesday June 28, 2023 evaluated the just-ended academic year. Vefonge James Ndumbe, Sub Director of General Affairs at the South West Regional Delegation for Secondary Education, said the 2022/2023 academic year was better off than the previous year. Of the 452 secondary schools that were supposed to operate, 257 effectively opened their doors. There were 121 functional public schools out of 268 existing ones. Syllabus coverage stood at 87%. He noted that as the crisis is easing off, indication as most schools kept opening their doors progressively. They identified shortage of teachers in key subjects like Mathematics, Physics and French Language. They also recorded a good number of clandestine schools among others.
