West Region : US Ambassador Ends Two-day Visit

Christopher John Lamora had the opportunity to visit HIV/AIDS relief disease centers in Bafoussam and Dschang on June 27 and 28, 2023.

The US Ambassador to Cameroon, Christopher John Lamora, has described the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS) as an encouraging potential health partner, promising that the United States government will expand new programmes on health surveys, especially on the prevention and fight against HIV/AIDS. The US Ambassador was speaking in Dschang, on June 28, 2023, at the end of his two-day visit to the West Region that gave him the opportunity to inspect the children and adolescents HIV programme centers at the Bafoussam Regional Hospital and the Dschang Annex Regional Hospital.
Addressing health personnel at the different health centres, Christopher J. Lamora, said the Bafoussam and Dschang, US Center for Disease Control (CDC) placed under the United States President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) focus on maternal mortality and HIV/AIDS prevention. He appreciated the tremendous services carried out by the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services, one of US Government major partner in the fight against the disease. The US Ambassador expressed happiness that the lifestyle of some 222 HIV infected children he visited at the Bafoussam Regional Hospital have changed positively.
