Fake Money Trafficking: Two Suspects Arrested

Réné Ngalla and Boris Mouengue, accused to be involved in this crime have been apprehended and detained at the Mewoulou Gendarmerie in Yaounde.
On the July 4, 2023, the Mewoulou Gendarmerie in Yaounde was alerted that fake money trafficking was going on around the Etoug-Ebe neighbourhood. On getting the alert, some elements of the Mewoulou Gendarmerie, led by the Brigade Commander, Alain Maturin Bela Fouda, stormed the neighbourhood. “When we arrived at the Etoug-Ébe junction, we succeeded to arrest one of the suspects, René Ngalla; apparently a taxi driver,” the Gendarmerie Commander explained. Réné Ngalla, 35- year-old, was caught with FCFA 7,500, broken down into FCFA 500 which was suspected to be fake money. He was immediately taken to the gendarmerie where he was questioned. The suspect later-on revealed that he was not alone in the business. “After questioning, he guided us towards his accomplice who according to him, was the one who finances the trafficking,” says the Commander.
