Cameroon-United Kingdom : Exploring Fresh Cooperation Domains

Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute and the newly designated British High Commissioner to Cameroon, Barry Lowen yesterday August 8, 2023 held talks on bilateral ties.

Cooperation ties between Cameroon and the United Kingdom have been reviewed by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute and the newly-designated British High Commissioner to Cameroon, Barry Lowen. This was during a maiden audience the former granted the latter yesterday August 8, 2023 at the Star Building with both parties agreeing to explore fresh cooperation domains for mutual gains. 
A statement by the British diplomat indicates that infrastructure, technology, agriculture and energy are some of the areas in which British companies are making great strides in Cameroon and there are prospects of exploring new horizons. The African Investment Forum to be held in April next year in London will also serve as another platform of broadening investment opportunities, a gathering which the British diplomat said Cameroon has already been invited. Honoured to have been received by the Prime Minister, Head of Government barely a fortnight after his arrival in Cameroon, Barry Lowen said they discussed the longstanding and deep ties between the two countries and agreed that there was a great potential to further develop these relations. “I have already seen the diversity, creativity and dynamism here and the UK offers some opportunities to Cameroon.  We are very much looking forward to building on that as well as on trade and investment where there are exciting prospects.
