Cameroon-Plan International : Revised Establishment Agreement Signed

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella signed on behalf of Cameroon and the Country Director of Plan International, Mohamed Ibrahim Bah did for his institution on August 9, 2023.

A revised establishment agreement has been signed between the government of Cameroon and Plan International Cameroon. The official signing ceremony took place on August 9, 2023 with External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella signing on behalf of the government and the Country Director of Plan International Cameroon, Mohammed Ibrahim Bah penning for his institution, in the presence of some members of government and representatives of the diplomatic corps. The revised establishment agreement gives Plan International the legal framework to continue its action of promoting and protecting the rights of children, especially girls in facilitating their access to education, health and empowerment. 
With Plan International having been operating in Cameroon for over 25 years, Minister Mbella Mbella in his preliminary statement said the revised agreement was also an opportunity to salute the long and rich collaboration that exists between the two parties. The initial agreement was signed on September 6, 1996 and has been revised twice (October 2012 and October 2017). The Minister said the actions of Plan International are very noticeable in Cameroon and the institution accompanies government in the implementation of its policy in the promotion of the rights of children and girls. Minister Mbella Mbella added that for the last five years, Plan International has mobilised over FCFA 50 billion for the realisation of its projects in Cameroon and currently has a national programme to empower three million young girls by 2027. 
For the Country Director of Plan International Cameroon, Mohamed Ibrahim Bah, the signing of the revised agreement confirms the mutual interest both parties have in protecting the rights of children. “Plan International ...
