North West : Commitment For Total Resumption Of Classes

Education stakeholders in the North West Region in general and those of the secondary education sector in particular taking inspiration from the success recorded in the previous years, are working for the re-opening of classes in all schools and hitch-free 2023/2024 school year that begins on September 4, 2024.  The stakeholders expressed the commitment during the Secondary Education Sector Conference that also served as the occasion to launch the new school year at the Government Bilingual Technical High School Bamenda on August 23, 2023.
Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique  Tchoffo Beben presided at the conference . He acknowledged the remarkable increase in the number of students as well as that of functional schools in the region in the 2022 /2023 academic year. He said, "I am appealing to teachers and the administrations of various schools to make sure that the results so far continue to improve. We were first in many end-of-course exams nationwide last year like the BACC.” The Governor urged   teachers to redouble efforts so as to achieve better results in the upcoming academic year. He further said, measures will be continuously taken to sanction teachers who earn salaries without teaching.
The upcoming school year will certainly take in a heightened atmosphere of security in the North West Region. In this connection, Governor Lele Lafrique assured that, “Security measures are going to be taken everywhere to accompany classes resumption. I assure the education family of the availability of security services, administrative and religious authorities, traditional rulers and the civil society...
