West Region : Governor Awa holds conclave on security

The meeting that held behind closed door, discussed about the resolution reached at the Governors’ meeting held in Yaounde.

Governor Awa Fonka Augustine, has told SDOs in the West region that they need a lot of encouragement, advice and consultation at the start of the 2023/2024 academic year, so as to enable educational stakeholder in the region have a smooth take off of the school year in their various administrative units. He called on his collaborators to embark on policies of social and economic construction in their various divisions based on cooperation with development stakeholders.
Governor Awa Fonka Augustine, was addressing the eight Senior Divisional Officers (SDOs) of the West region on, 30, August, 2023, at a meeting that held behind closed door, and centered on the important role for intervention by SDOs at this period of back to school, secondly, the recommendation reached at the last Governor conference in Yaounde, and the instructions dished out by MINAT, and lastly hygiene and sanitation situation in the divisions. The Governor called on the SDOs to promote peace and security in their various administrative units by establishing a better follow-up strategies and policies that will help them make the Yaounde recommendations produce positive results.
On back to school, the Governor said he instructed the SDOs to establish a follow-up committees to check about security in schools campuses, intervention on excessive enrolment, insinuating that studies across the region has established that vast majority of young people are still seeking admissions  into schools and colleges. He told the SDOs that the moment has come for them to marshal sufficient administrative good will to effect the necessary security measures to maintain stability, peace and the defeat of banditry in their various administrative units, especially in subdivisions and villages.
