Combined Services Military Academy : 39th Batch Christened “Unity And Patriotism”

The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo presided at the christening ceremony on September 15, 2023.

They have been christened “Unity and Patriotism.” That is the name of the 39th batch of officers-cadet of the Combined Services Military Academy. The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo, on the esteemed instructions and accord of the Head of State, revealed the name of the batch of the institution that produces the best high-ranking military brains and officers, on September 15, 2023. In a ceremony void of speeches and full in military doctrine, Minister Joseph Beti Assomo only pronounced the christened name of the batch to the hearing of other senior military and civilian personnel present at the event, amongst them, the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant-General René Claude Meka. There was a military parade with the military brass band animating in music.
The name given to the 39th batch of the Combined Services Military Academy reflects the present socio-political context of Cameroon, the sub region and Africa. Indeed, unity is needed for any meaningful growth in a community, and the country’s national flag clearly indicates that aspect. The star that sits on the red strip of the flag is known as the “star of unity.” This national symbol advocates national solidarity, social cohesion and a common understanding with one another.
