Elections Cameroon : Electoral Board Reviews Quarterly Performance

Deliberations which took place on September 21, 2023 were presided at by the Chairperson, Enow Abrams Egbe.

Members of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon have held the third ordinary session for 2023 and reflections focused essentially on reviewing their quarterly performance. Deliberations were chaired by the Chairperson of the Electoral Board, Dr. Enow Abrams Egbe, on September 21, 2023 at the institution's headquarters in Yaounde. The performance review entailed the Board's activity report from July to September 2023, an appraisal on the midterm execution of the 2023 budget, as well as the progress report on the execution of the Special Appropriation of the Electoral Board.  Members also reviewed and approved the conclusions of recent field trips carried out to supervise the close of the voter registration exercice for 2023, as well as the official launching of regional permanent consultation platforms between ELECAM and other stakeholders of the electoral process.
Appreciating feedback following of the launch the multistakeholder platform, the Electoral Board Chair said their mission is to encourage and ensure democratic vitality in Cameroon. "The objective of this exercise (refering to the third ordinary session) is to enable us review our roadmap in order to make informed decisions for better performances of our institution, and the democratic process as a whole," he said.
