Crowd-pulling Event!

As it has always been the case, the Yaounde Omisports Stadium was once again the centre of attraction for sports lovers in the Cup of Cameroon final yesterday September 24, 2023.
It was festive atmosphere at the Yaounde Omisports Stadium yesterday September 24, 2023. The event was the final of the 62nd edition of the Cup of Cameroon. The final pitted PWD of Bamenda and Fovu of Baham, all from the grass fields of Cameroon. As it has always been the case, the Yaounde Omisports Stadium was once again the centre of attraction for sports lovers especially in the Cup of Cameroon final. Lovers of football from all the nooks and crannies in Yaounde trooped to the stadium to watch the prestigious event. Lovers of football and culture came out massively to celebrate the love and generosity of Cameroonians. It was indeed pride for Cameroonian sports men and women who went to the stadium to receive trophies from the Prime Minister, the Head of State’s representative at the ceremony.

As early as 1:00 pm., fans of PWD Bamenda and Fovu of Baham were seen around the stadium playing drums, gongs and other instruments singing and dancing while waiting for the stadium gates to be open. In the stadium, the same fans of the two clubs cheered their teams with song and dance shouting at the top of their voices and encouraging the players. Despite the rain, the fans did not give up but held on till the end. After the rain, fans that stayed at home also came out and filled the grandstands. Cameroonians from all walks of life were at the grandstands to encourage the players. The imposing picture of the Head of State at the west end of the stadium was an encouragement for the players. It showed the interest the Head of State has for the youths and the love he has for sports in the country.
