Bilateral Cooperation : Cameroon, US Revisit Mutual Concerns

This was during an audience Minister Felix Mbayu granted the US State Department’s Director of the Office of Central African Affairs, Morrison Gregory on September 29, 2023.

Areas of mutual collaboration between Cameron and the United States of America came under discussion at the Ministry of External Relations on September 29, 2023. This was during an audience the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth granted the United State Department’s Director of the Office of African Affairs, Morrison Gregory. He was accompanied by the US Ambassador to Cameroon, Christopher John Lamora. The personalities revisited varied cooperation areas for the mutual benefit of the different populations. 
Going by the statement of Morrison Gregory to the press, they held constructive discussions on the wonderful opportunities to be exploited to address many areas of mutual concerns between the two countries. “Cameroon sits at a very important place in the region (Central African sub region) and my responsibility is on this region. So we had a discussion on the areas we can work together to address our common concerns. In particular, we have the concerns in the Far North Region and I thanked the Minister and Cameroon for a partnership in combatting violent extremism and for being such a wonderful and generous host to so many refugees,” he stated.  
The Director for African Affairs added that aspects in other parts of the country were also examined, with the two parties expressing their shared concerns and importance of combined efforts to tackle certain challenges.
