University of Bamenda : Citadel of Academic Excellence

Created on the ashes of ENS annex Bambili in 2010, the university today comprises six faculties and six professional colleges offering training in arts, sciences and technology.

The University of Bamenda situated in Bambili in the North West Region is one of the State universities created by President Paul Biya on December 14th, 2010. From its humble beginning as annex institution to the Higher Teachers’ Training College in Yaounde, the University of Bamenda has established a reputation for itself as an Anglo-Saxon university offering higher standards training in the arts, science and technology.
The university comprises six faculties and six professional colleges namely,  Faculty of Science, Faculty of Health Science, Faculty of Law and Political Science, Faculty of Economics and Management  Science, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Education, the Higher Teachers’ Training College, Higher Technical Teachers’ Training College, Higher Institute of Management and of Commerce and Management, College of Technology, Higher  Institute of Transport and Logistics and the National Higher Polytechnic Institute. In its continuous strive for innovation in order to meet demands of contemporary times, the university recently created the Bamenda University Language Centre with a vocation to use language as an instrument of inter-cultural communication in view of promoting multiculturalism, crisis management and peace building.
It is worthy to mention that the creation of the University of Bamenda is like a dream come true or the materialization of the dream of our fore-fathers when they created the Cameroon College of Arts and Science and Technology, CCAST Bambili, whose lands were surrendered to the university.
