University of Bamenda : Newly Appointed Officials Commissioned

This was in a brief ceremony at the university campus on Friday October 6, 2023.
Some six officials who were appointed last September 29, 2023 by the Minister of Higher Education at the University of Bamenda Higher Institute of Commerce and Management were installed into office on Friday, October 6, 2023 by the Vice Chancellor, Theresia Nkuo-Akenji. Speaking during the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor congratulated the appointees and welcomed them to the university but warned that the university milieu has very high expectations in all aspects. More so, their appointment comes in time with the new law on the orientation of Higher Education promulgated by President Paul Biya. She therefore called upon them to familiarize themselves with the new law to see how best they can contribute to the new Higher Education Vision. ‘When in doubt, seek the opinion of hierarchy,: she said urging them to be punctual, disciplined and have respect for hierarchy. For those who were returning to the university, she cautioned against the spirit of ‘deja vu’ or over knowing and the keep learning every day. She singled out the outgoing Deputy Director of the Higher Institute of Commerce and Management, Andrew Vukengkeng for his contribution to the growth of the university and wished him well in his new function as Inspector number 2, at the Ministry of Higher Education in Yaounde. She also wished a good retirement to the outgoing Secretary General of the institution.
Prior to the installation speech, was a reading of the ministerial decision appointing the six officials by the Director of Administrative Affairs of the University of Bamenda, Richard Mbifi. The six appointed officials are namely; Jumbo Eleazar Urie, Deputy Director HICM, Lukong Keneth...
