NW Regional Assembly Headquarters : Decentralisation Minister Lays Foundation Stone

Georges Elanga Obam was on a working visit in Bamenda on October 17, 2023.

The Minister of Decentralisation and Local Development, Georges Elanga Obam has laid the foundation stone for the North West Regional Assembly headquarters. This was during his working visit to the institution on October 17, 2023. The project is financed by FEICOM and the North West Regional Assembly and expected to be executed within a 30-month timeframe.  The Minister also proceeded with the launching of the North West Guest House, also located at Bamenda I neighborhood. 
While addressing the population, the Minister said, “I have not only come to Bamenda for the launching of the projects. I was at the main building hosting the Regional Assembly where I launched the 12th session. The President did a very good speech explaining what they are doing and what they intend to do".  Minister Georges Elanga Obama equally gave some explanations on what the government is doing to assist the Assembly in its mission. The decentralisation boss revealed that he was satisfied with the development speed of the region.
Speaking earlier at the Regional Assembly, the Minister urged both regional and local authorities to make good use of the National School of Local Administration (NASLA) to be able to improve on the quality and human resource. He advised the regional executives and Councillors to make use of the Special Status. "Make the Special Status work for you,” he said. 
On his part, the President of the North West Regional Assembly Prof.  Fru Angwafo III saluted the Minister for staying true to his words by enabling them...
