National Extracurricular Sports Games : 1st Edition Announced For December

The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education made the disclosure during a press conference yesterday November 20, 2023 in Yaounde.

The first edition of the National Extracurricular Sports Games (JENASESCO) will take place from December 17 - 22, 2023 in Yaounde. The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou, made the announcement during a press conference yesterday November 20, 2023 in Yaounde, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication Professor Felix Zogo. JENASESCO is an opportunity for youths not normally covered by school and university sports federations to showcase their talents and potentials. 
Through the press conference, it was revealed that JENASESCO, alongside the third edition of the International Exhibition for the Promotion of Youth Entrepreneurship dubbed SIPROME-Jeunes, are being organised to mark the fourth edition of the Youth Conneckt Cameroon Programme. SIPROME-Jeunes, is slated for December 6 to 16, at the Yaounde Sports Complex (PAPOSY). Holding under the theme: "Resilience and Competitiveness of Young Businesses: Stakes and Opportunities of the African Continental Free Trade Area,” it will be a forum where Cameroon's young entrepreneurs can express themselves as well as an opportunity for economic connection between complementary start-ups and a platform for experience sharing.
JENASESO is expected to gather some 1,820 athletes from the ten regions of the country, aged between 18 and 35. The sites selected to host the first edition of JENASESCO games are: the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium and its annexes for sports competitions. The Mfandena gymnasium will also host some sports competitions as well as the games village. The Yaounde Essos Bilingual High School has been allocated for athletes' accommodation and cultural events.
