SW Lights 25 Candles For Private Education

The flag of success, professionalism and innovation flew high in Buea last weekend as 1,264 passed out of the pioneering BUIB with Master's and other undergraduate Diplomas during their silver jubilee.

 

Known for its pioneering contribution in training healthcare practitioners in Cameroon, the Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB) on November 25, 2023, pulled crowds in Buea to mark 25 years of championing private educational initiatives in the South West Region.
Sitting in for the Prime Minister, Head of Government, South West Regional Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai, recalled that, BUIB since inception in 1998, has trained thousands of students including over 200 international students with 30 current foreigners in the 2023 graduation batch. He applauded the institution’s efforts in contributing to national development through transformative education and promised the administration's continuous support and protection of the Institute.
The venue was the Molyko Onmisports Stadium where the BUIB pulled a mammoth crowd to their silver jubilee convocation ceremony to send out 1,264 graduates in various programmes notably Master’s, Bachelor’s, Diplomas, and Vocational training certificated courses from her five schools. Their areas of specialisation included; Health sciences, Management sciences, Education Sciences, Engineering and Technology, and Agriculture.
The theme “Excellence in training a foundation for a successful professional life”, was on every lip and the keynote speech was delivered by a frontline South West elite, Dr. Ndoh Bertha Bakata, who underscored the burning need for students to adopt the in-person job-hunting approach and not just limit themselves to online interactions. “Explore all avenues of job hunting, and...
