North West : Governor Lauds Progress In Budget Execution

This was during the regional coordination and security meeting which took place on November 30 in Santa.

The Governor of the North West Region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique, has called on civil servants in the region to stop absenteeism from work under the pretext of ghost towns or insecurity. He promised disciplinary actions against civil servants found wanting in this light which could eventually lead to the suspension of salaries. He said peace is progressively returning to the region as more red zones are now turned to green zones thanks to the efforts of the security forces. The Governor equally called on mayors who are functioning outside of their jurisdictions to return to their respective municipalities.
Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique was speaking during a Regional coordination and security meeting which took place in Santa on November 30.  He said the forces of law and order have come up with a plan to ensure security along the major roads of the Region to ensure the fluidity of traffic and thereby economic activities. He called on the population to cooperate with the security forces so as to enable them flush out the last pockets of resistance.
He announced an increase not only in the execution rate of public investment budget in the Region but also the number of projects which according to the report of the Regional Delegate of Economy, Planning and Regional Development rose from 547 projects in 2022 to 585 projects in 2023 with an execution rate above the 70 per cent of last year.
