Assisting Vulnerable Persons : China Donates To Cameroon Red Cross

The medical and office equipment will enable the humanitarian organisation better serve humanity.


 
The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Cameroon, Wang Yingwu has offered office and medical equipment to the Cameroon Red Cross. On hand to receive the gifts during a ceremony on Wednesday December 6, 2023, was the National President of the Cameroon Red Cross, Cécile Akame Mfoumou. The event aimed at consolidating friendship ties existing between China and the humanitarian association.
Speaking during the event, Cécile Akame Mfoumou said they were receiving gifts from a traditional partner, for such a ceremony is not the first of its kind. She said that the Embassy of the People's Republic of China has accustomed the Cameroon Red Cross to receiving various donations from the people of China. The National President of the Cameroon Red Cross was delighted to recall the last donation of a warehouse by the Chinese Ambassador to the Cameroon Red Cross in November 2019. According to Cécile Akame Mfoumou, the building which is currently hosting offices of the National Disaster Management and the Logistics Departments, is of great help to her structure since it enabled the Red Cross to store the awareness materials that had been distributed to the various communities during the Covid-19 period. The building will still be used to store various equipment, Cécile Akame Mfoumou noted.
The President of the National Red Cross revealed that the donation received comes at the right time, because it will enable the Red Cross to improve the reception of patients admitted in emergency units, as well as the technical platform needed by Cameroon Red Cross hospitals throughout the country. “There is no longer any doubt that we must count on you to add value to our hu...
