NW Local Development : Regional Delegates, Language Broadcasters Ready

The Office of the Public Independent Conciliator for the North West has set the basis of collaboration with stakeholders of autonomous services and National Language Broadcasters.

 

Beginning from the year 2024, more harmonious local development is expected in the North West Region with the Office of Public Independent Conciliator (PIC) collaborating with Regional Delegates and heads of autonomous services, as well as with national language broadcasters to enhance development through the services of the Regional Assembly, City, Subdivisional and Local Councils. Experts within the Office of the PIC under the coordination of the PIC, Tamfu Simon Fai drilled the Regional Delegates and national language broadcasters on the missions, role and functioning of the PIC, being a new dispensation in the political and administrative landscape of the region in separate workshops organized respectively on December 7 and 8, 2023 in Bamenda. The opening and closing statements of the PIC during the workshops situated the context. It made the participants to understand that the Office of the PIC was created with one of the missions to ensure fairness in the relationship between Councils and service users and their beneficiary populations. The office has the mandate to ensure that persons serving in regional or council administration fulfill their ethical obligations, shun unethical conduct and violations of rights in regional, city and council services.
The experts of the Office of the PIC identified the common grounds for information sharing, collaboration and cooperation with the Regional Delegates on the one hand and the national language broadcasters on the other hand.  They also shared ideas on how the PIC can partner with them in the protection and promot...
